China, China – International journalists have been given a unique opportunity to acquire first-hand knowledge of China’s progress in the aerospace sector during their visit to Hainan.
A delegation of foreign reporters visited the headquarters of Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Centre on Tuesday to explore how Hainan’s free trade port is developing new quality productivity.
They visited the facility’s data center, its Supercomputing Technology Exhibition Hall, and the NFT Digital Art Museum.
Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Smart Technology Co., Ltd. Yeshi Yang, chairman of the company, highlighted its unique features.
“Compared to all other supercomputing centers, the biggest feature of Wenchang Supercomputing Center is that we actually operate in the aerospace industry and serve entities operating in the aerospace industry,” he said.
Yeshi added that the facility’s services “start with data collection, data processing and data use.”
He also mentioned the potential for China’s progress in the global aerospace sector.
“Aerospace technology is rapidly developing in China. There are many scenarios for using this advanced technology and there is a great demand in the Chinese market. Therefore, under this spectrum, I think China’s aerospace industry will develop to the next level in the next few years,” Yeshi said.
The Wenchang Aerospace Supercomputing Center is the premier initiative in converging aerospace and cutting-edge computing, making a significant contribution to aerospace research advancement and fostering innovation. This state-of-the-art facility represents a major advancement in China’s technical framework specifically tailored for aerospace research.
Journalists who toured the centre are engaged in a media exchange programme hosted by the China International Press and Communications Centre (CIPCC). They arrived in Hainan on Monday and explored the maintenance industrial base of one-stop aircraft at Hainan Free Trade Port. Covering the Boao Forum (BFA) Annual Meeting 2025 was a major focus for these journalists.
