Tehran – In official communications, Ithaca Abdulqadir Imam, executive director of the developing 8 (D8) organization, expanded his gratitude to the Minister of Iran’s cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts, and sang Reza Salehiamyi for the warm hospitality expanded during the 18th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition and related industrial exhibitions.
In his letter, Abdulqadir Imam praised the exhibition’s success and pointed it out as evidence of the prominent role of Iran’s Islamic Republic in tourism diplomacy. He emphasized the importance of maintaining targeted, intentional interactions and exploiting the potential for convergence within regional tourism ecosystems.
The main strategic proposals outlined in the letter include the allocation of a dedicated exhibition hall for D8 member states at the 19th International Tourism Exhibition in Tehran. Abdulkadir Imam described the initiative as a crucial step to strengthen economic diplomacy and promote regional cooperation in the tourism industry.
Additionally, the Secretary-General proposed a joint meeting that includes the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism from D8 member states and private sector stakeholders, creating a shared roadmap to promote joint investment in tourism, sustainable development and maximize the mutual capabilities of member states.
He also reiterated the D8 Secretariat’s commitment to pursue and operate these strategic initiatives. He requested that the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts consider the D8 Secretariat as an important partner in the planning process for the 2026 exhibition.
The letter highlights our mutual commitment to deepen strategic cooperation and develop innovative capabilities in both regional and international tourism sectors.
