He made his remarks at Tehran Merabad Airport on Thursday before joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) prime ministerial meeting before departing for the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
He emphasized the importance of developing economic and cultural relations with union member states.
As Iran became an observer member of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2024, he emphasized that the development of relations with neighbouring countries, particularly the Eurasian region, is one of the nation’s priorities.
Iran is seriously pursuing the development of relations with the allied member states in President Pezeshkian’s administration, AREF emphasized.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Iran’s first vice president mentioned the cultural commonality between Iran and Eurasian countries, saying that Iran has many cultural commonalities and proximity to Eurasian member states, which need to increase the level of relations with these countries in all areas.
He added that Iran has made great strides in this regard, including the final decision on a free trade agreement with the EAEU. Cross-border trade, transport and logistics cooperation between Iran and the EAEU is also increasing.
AREF traveled to Kyrgyzstan on Thursday with the head of a high-ranking delegation to participate in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Prime Ministerial Conference.
In addition to giving speeches at the meeting, he will meet with many heads of state who are participating in the session to discuss ways to increase bilateral, multilateral and regional ties.
The Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union will meet at the Cholpon ATA in Kyrgyzstan from August 14th to 15th.
This session will pass a programme that promotes exchange trade in the market for common exchange (organised) commodities within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
