A tragic terrorist incident occurred in Pahargam, and later, on both sides of the world’s most dangerous borders stared in each other’s eyes.
As soon as this incident occurred, the accusation method was adopted from that moment on. So instead of repeating these accusations or declaring the parties correct, let’s look at how this situation occurs again and again and again and how it can be prevented.
As the subcontinent remained a British colony for decades, it was Britain’s responsibility to resolve all problems between the two new countries that had appeared on the world map when the British liberated India, but this was not done intentionally, and many wounds in the colonial system were brought to the subcontinent society.
The subcontinent was already burning in many places, and Kashmir was beginning to burn in the same way.
When the two newly emerging countries got into trouble, it was decided that India would bring the issue to the UN Security Council, where they would be given the right to obtain consent from both countries and decide whether or not they would like to go with Pakistan. Unfortunately, this Security Council resolution will not be implemented and is still on the UN Security Council agenda.
The failure to implement led to a war breaking out between Pakistan and India, the fact that the war itself is a problem rather than a solution to the problem.
In this situation, a state of anxiety began to develop in Kashmir.
Today’s world is not an armed movement world. However, it is extremely difficult to prevent them. Still, Kashmiri individuals deviating from the path of Kashmir’s central leadership have established armed groups, and the actions of these armed groups have made language tensions and wars between Pakistan and India the norm. India took the position that Pakistan sent these armed men to Kashmir and that they were Pakistani people.
Pakistan claims India has been carrying out military operations in Kashmir for the past 40 years, but has not been able to produce Pakistanis who have been killed, arrested or presented before the media in clashes in Kashmir. And whoever was killed while fighting the Indian army in Kashmir, from the tombs to their legitimate owners, they are all in Kashmir.
If these people were Pakistanis, then someone from the grave to their legitimate owner would have been in Pakistan.
Unfortunately, in this whole situation, the political process suffered a great deal of damage, making it impossible for the leaders of all political parties to freely carry out politics. With this whole background in mind, we can understand the very unfortunate terrorist incident in Pahargam. The situation now is that Pakistan is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, and all permanent and non-permanent members of the council, including Pakistan, have condemned it and demanded that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
Pakistan has argued for its stated position ever since the tragic incident occurred that if India has evidence of Pakistan’s involvement, it should be shared with Pakistan or with the international community. Pakistan also offers full cooperation in impartial investigations at the Prime Minister’s level. After this incident, India took steps to suspend the Indus Water Treaty. Pakistan responded by saying that if the water agreement was unilaterally terminated and the water was stopped it would be considered a declaration of war.
Water experts say it’s impossible to stop the flow of water. They ask how the water stops or where it is stored. Which canal systems are there to use stored water?
The answer to all of this is negative, so it’s unlikely that it will stop the water. Similarly, the two countries cannot afford major military conflicts.
The reason for this is that India has more talent than Pakistan, but it is necessary to maintain a reasonable portion of its actual control with China, and it is impossible for India to withdraw its troops from actual control, but Pakistan does not need a single soldier at the borders of Iran and China and Afghanistan.
In the current situation, there has been very appropriate news that Iran has provided mediation to end this tension.
The offer has gained much acceptance in the Pakistani media. Once India accepts it, the end of this tension becomes possible very quickly, as dialogue is the only way to resolve the problem. If the Security Council resolution on Kashmir had been respected, the nuclear subcontinent would not have met face to face today.
