According to the IRNA, ambassadors, diplomats and UN representatives have expressed their sincere gratitude and tribute to the victims of the recent deadly explosion at Shahid Rajaye Port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran.
The Iranian ambassador and permanent representative of the United Nations, Sayed Irabani and Deputy General Representative Zahra ershadi welcomed diplomats from various countries on Iranian mission in New York.
The diplomats conveyed the government’s sadness to the Iranian people and the government, especially the families.
In addition to signing Ayato Dol’s book directly, many also sent electronic messages of sympathy.
A group of friends defending the UN Charter issued a statement expressing sincere sadness to the Iranian people and the government.
The group described the incident as tragic, claiming dozens of lives and hundreds of people injured.
The statement added that member states of the group have deeply saddened the loss of life and have expanded their sympathy to all who grieve for their loved ones.
The group also hoped for a quick recovery for the injured and confirmed solidarity with Iran.
UN spokesman Stephen Dujaric also commented on the incident in an interview with the IRNA, saying the UN is “deeply saddened” by the number of casualties, expressing sadness to the victims’ families and the Iranian state, with hopes for a quick recovery of the injured.
