Addressing Semons in Friday’s prayer, Tehran interim prayer leader Fujat al-Islamic Qasem Sedighi spoke about his upcoming Iranian-US talk in Muscat, Oman.
Sedigi rejected allegations regarding direct consultations between the two sides, saying, “The US President’s claim to directly negotiate with Iran is his deception. Direct negotiations are not worthy of Iran.”
“From the start, Iran took the initiative. They said that consultations should take place in the UAE, but chose Oman instead,” he said.
“They (US) wanted to talk about a variety of issues, but decision-makers in the Islamic regime only accepted one issue, a nuclear issue,” he added.
“Today, the nuclear industry is indigenous in Iran,” the clergyman emphasized, “If they want to take nuclear weapons off us, there is absolutely no room for negotiation.”
