Qassem spoke at a party ceremony to commemorate Martyrs’ Day on Tuesday.
The Hezbollah leader said this at the beginning of his speech. “The best way to commemorate this great day is to remember the words of Ummah Martyr Master Syed Hassan Nasrallah: ‘When we are martyred, we are victorious.’
“Martyr Said Hassan Nasrallah used to say, ‘We achieve victory when we are martyred,'” he added.
“Hezbollah’s military action prevented 75,000 Israeli soldiers and officers from invading Lebanon,” Qasem later said.
“The military-people-resistance equation sanctified the balance of deterrence between 2000 and 2023,” the Hezbollah leader continued.
“The deployment of the Lebanese army to southern Lebanon is not a defeat for Hezbollah. We are happy about it,” he said elsewhere, warning that “‘Israel’ plans to interfere in all domestic affairs of Lebanon.”
“Although the Lebanese government believes that disarming the resistance will neutralize Israel’s pretexts, the enemy is creating new pretexts to attack Lebanon,” Qasem further said.
“The ceasefire agreement is only valid south of the Litani River,” he said later, stressing that “the Lebanese government must work hard to oust the Israeli occupation.”
“We are not going to give up our weapons. Weapons allowed us to reach an agreement,” he insisted.
“The enemy is trying to destroy us. Therefore, we have the right to do anything in the face of this danger,” the Hezbollah leader said, adding: “We will defend our land, our families, our dignity and will not surrender.”
“Even if there is bullying or pressure, we will not be deterred from protecting ourselves,” Kasem said.
“Israel is targeting people’s homes, cars and land, destroying livelihoods in the border areas,” the Hezbollah chief said, adding: “According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 130 days have passed since the ceasefire agreement, and during this period 717 people, including children, women, men and resistance fighters, were martyred.”
“Despite everything, Hezbollah has not taken any action that violates the ceasefire,” Qassem said. He added: “In the face of these repeated violations, some people continue to say that the problem is on the Lebanese side, when in reality the violations are by Israel.”
