Tehran – Environment Director, Sheena Ansari, and members of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture (ICCIMA) discussed ways to strengthen the country’s participation in the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference, known as the 30th Conference (COP30).
During the meeting held on Monday, Ansari highlighted the potential for the private sector that is actively present at COP30. She also said the current administration has entrusted the Climate Change Negotiation Committee to the Foreign Office, and the DOE is trying to change that and take responsibility for the committee.
The formula proposed that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed to strengthen collaboration between the two organisations, particularly collaborative research projects.
On his part, ICCIMA head Samad Hassanzadeh said that reducing greenhouse gas emissions was a critical measure of infrastructure and emphasized that the private sector has a remarkable ability to actively participate in COP29.
ICCIMA Vice Chairman Payam Baqeri said the administration needs to support the private sector to help them participate more effectively in COP30.
Resistance to international environmental activities that excludes regulations that are no longer necessary to present the country’s investment capabilities and opportunities at a global level, harness the technology of content, set up an Iranian pavilion at COP30 to hold negotiations, modernize an aging fleet, reduce pollution, eliminate regulations that are not necessary to optimize the country’s economy, and eliminate regulations that are no longer necessary to establish a joint permanent committee to acquire efforts to entitle contracts through DOE and ICCIMMA to acquire DOE and ICCIMA.
COP30 will be held in Belem, Brazil from November 10th to 21st, 2025.
The COP30 Action Agenda is a program that mobilizes non-party stakeholders, including civil society, businesses, investors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government at all levels of government. Its aim is to accelerate and expand climate action by highlighting solutions that can be repeated and expanded in different locations in a structured way, assessing progress and ensuring accountability.
The agenda will be organized around six key areas, reflecting the range and urgency of actions needed to meet the collective commitment under the Paris Agreement, and reflecting the transition of energy, industry and transportation. Forests, marine, and biodiversity. Transforming agriculture and food systems. Building cities, infrastructure, and water resilience. Cultivating human and social development; cross-cut enablers and accelerators.
COP29 took place in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11th to 22nd, 2024. A key focus of COP29 has been a critical focus on finance as the country will be dramatically reduced to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect livelihoods and livelihoods from worsening climate change.
Iran used the COP29 opportunity to conduct international negotiations, defending the rights and interests of the state, raising issues of unfair sanctions imposed on the country, and holding ways to use the international environmental fund.
