The two leaders discussed the latest efforts to restore the Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the prisoner exchange agreement during a meeting in Doha, the Egyptian president said in a statement, the Anadoru Agency reported.
According to the statement, Sisi and Hamad exchanged opinions on how to deal with the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza by ensuring adequate aid flow for Palestinians in the enclave.
Since March 2, Israel has closed the Gaza intersection and has prevented essential supplies from entering the enclave.
The Israeli Army also renewed a deadly attack on Gaza on March 18, crushing the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in January.
Almost 51,000 Palestinians, most of their women and children, have been killed in Gaza in the brutal onslaught of Israel since October 2023.
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Joab Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case in the International Court of Justice due to its war with the enclave.
