Tehran – Israeli occupation regime experienced one of Gaza’s most deadly days amid a fierce operation by Palestinian resistance fighters.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confirmed that seven soldiers were killed in two separate incidents in Khan Eunice in southern Gaza. The IOF said several other soldiers were injured.
Israeli media reported that the death toll has risen to at least eight, 17 people injured, with some in serious condition.
Additional reports say another soldier has been confirmed to have died in what is known as a “serious incident” in Gaza. The soldier was reportedly listed as “missing” for a while.
According to a preliminary investigation by the IOF, the first incident occurred when a Palestinian resistance fighter detonated an explosive device planted on a PUMA-type armored staff carrier.
The vehicle carried combat units from the engineering squad.
The explosion burned the vehicles while the soldiers were still inside, causing their deaths. It took several hours to identify the victim.
After confirmation of death, the Army announced the names of the six dead soldiers.
According to an official IOF statement, two Israeli soldiers were also injured in Khan Eunice, with Israeli soldiers injured.
Israeli media described the events of Khan Eunice as difficult to analyze, especially as the victims came from two different military units.
Previous Hebrew media reported that the incident involved various brigades and departmental units.
Israeli media reported that some soldiers remained missing on the scene and raised serious concerns about their fate, citing military sources.
The military helicopter evacuated the injured to Telhahamer Hospital in Tel Aviv.
Reports say Palestinian fighters have set up a complex ambush targeting IOF units. They set fire to Puma Armored Staff Carriers and locked up soldiers inside and burned them.
The audio of the injured was taken with a camera belonging to the Alcasam Brigade, the armed wing of Hamas. When rescuers arrived it was targeted in a second ambush.
The Al-Kassam Brigade announced that it had conducted a complicated ambush against the IOF unit, which had taken shelter at a home in southern Khan Eunice.
The troops were attacked with Yasin 105 rockets and RPG rounds, resulting in death and injury among professional soldiers.
Al-Qassam also reported targeting IOF Merkava tanks in the same area using an explosive device and a Yassin 105 rocket.
Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Brigade, an armed wing of Palestinian Islamic jihad, announced that it had launched a mortar bombardment attack on the concentration of IOF soldiers located northwest of Khan Younis.
The Al-QUDS Brigade said their fighters had observed mortar shells landing directly among the soldiers, urging the IOF to deploy the vehicle and call for air support to evacuate the victims.
Previously, the Al-Quds brigade reported that it had destroyed an Israeli military vehicle.
Despite nearly two years of war on genocide with Gaza, the main purpose of the Israeli regime to eliminate Palestinian resistance remains a distant goal.
