Officers told Anadolu over the phone that seven families were killed in a local village in Baddar, in the Leiri district, when the landslide buried the house early in the morning.
“It was an unfortunate incident, all members of the family were killed and their bodies were recovered,” the official said.
Rescue squads, including police and state disaster response forces (SDRF), are deployed for rescue and relief efforts in the area.
In another incident in Lanvin district, cloudburst caused flash floods, causing four deaths, and two individuals went missing in Rajgarh.
“Rescue operations are underway to find the missing person,” district Lanvin Mohammad Arias told Anadolu over the phone.
Over the past few weeks, heavy rain has been broken in the area, with deaths exceeding 80 and over 30 people gone missing.
Dozens of structures have also been damaged, washing away major road links and many lowland areas have been wiped out by flash floods.
Residents in the area are advised to stay cautious in areas that are prone to landslides and flooding.
