Tehran – Iranian Parliament Vice-Chairman Hamidreza Hajibaba calls for stronger solidarity in Asian countries as an important strategy to counter Israeli military action in Gaza and support the Palestinian cause.
Speaking at the Asian Parliament (APA), a bystander of the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Summit, Hajibaba emphasized that deeper cooperation across Asia can promote peace, protect local interests and help halt ongoing big names.
“The world no longer accepts one-sided domination with a single force,” he said. “Today, regional players are shaping increasingly global dynamics, and unity of Asian countries can be a critical force in addressing common challenges and injustice.”
Iranian officials highlighted important regional concerns, including water rarity, migration, food insecurity, poverty and terrorism, and called for collective action based on peaceful dialogue and mutual respect.
Turning to the crisis in Gaza, Hajibaba condemned Israel’s blatant seizure of land, which happened “with the full view of the international community.” He argued that the occupation regime “relies on continued instability for its survival” and called on international supporters to “end their support and prevent further crimes.”
“Our call, and the calls of many regional states, is for immediate action from those who support this administration,” he said. “They must be held responsible for making these crimes possible.”
He urged all members of the APA to adopt a unified and decisive attitude towards Israeli colonial and hegemony policies. “By standing together, Asian countries can demonstrate their commitment to justice, peace and rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to dignity, freedom and self-determination.”
Hajibaba concluded with a petition to the global community. “This is a historic moment. The international community must break silence and fulfill its moral and humanitarian duties to ensure that the Palestinian people are protected from genocide and ethnic cleansing.”
The Iranian parliamentary delegations at the summit included Vice-Chairman Hajibai, Secretary-General Apa Fadahosin Maleki and members of the parliament Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini, Mojutaba Yussefy, Ebrahim Rezaei, Samoye Rafie and Abbas Gorulo.
