Iran’s Deputy Minister of Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Galibabadi criticized European countries for sending notifications to activate the JCPOA snapback process, calling the action completely illegal without legal basis.
“Unfortunately, international organizations (often) operate within a political framework. Europeans are carrying out this action and formally communicated Iran’s position through a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he said.
Gharibabadi pointed out that Europe describes this process as a 20-30-day procedure. “We said we hope Europe will use this 20-30-day period as an opportunity to correct the mistakes they have made, because we know that if they move to revive sanctions, Iran will respond proportionately,” he added.
He emphasized that this period is not only a window in Iran, but also an opportunity for the Europeans themselves to correct their mistakes.
