On returning from a trip to New York on Saturday, the president was officially welcomed with the director of the Supreme Leader’s office, Hojatores Mohammad Mohammad Mohammadi Golpaegani, as well as Vice President of Mohammad Jafar Gaenpana and several officials.
He said the trip provides an important platform for clarifying the clear position of Iran’s Islamic Republic at the global stage, particularly regarding the need to stand up against the crimes of the Israeli regime.
At a press conference in Tehran on Saturday, Pezeshkian condemned the atrocities committed in Gaza. There, more than 65,000 innocent lives were lost, and many others took away basic necessities such as water, food and medicine. He criticized the contradiction of defending human rights and hampering humanitarian aid, claiming it was calling it a blatant act of international deception.
The president pointed out that the ongoing situation in Gaza and the actions of the Israeli government threatened regional stability and security. He noted that the UN Security Council has not yet issued a resolution against the administration, highlighting how the global structure of power hinders true justice.
Pezeschkian also discussed meetings with various European leaders in France, Norway, Finland and Switzerland. He informed that many European officials are opposed to Israeli actions, but there is a lack of concrete measures to counter these actions. However, he acknowledged the growing public protests in Europe against a government that supports the Israeli regime.
Working on the snapback mechanism, Pezeshkian has worked with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to repeat Iran’s preparations to clarify its nuclear activities. He criticized the US for consistently presenting new excuses to prevent the agreement, claiming that the US was unable to tolerate strong Iran and was trying to weaken the country.
Additionally, he acknowledged valuable interactions with Iranian expatriates during his trip, highlighting their commitment to contributing to Iran’s progress. Pezeshkian expressed confidence in the country’s vast potential, saying that despite external obstacles, Iran’s rich resources and skilled labor will be able to overcome the challenges.
Finally, President Pezeshkian expressed his hope that, with God’s guidance, Iran will continue on the path of strength and resilient progress and dignity.
