Speaking on the sidelines of an international conference entitled “International Law Under Attack: Aggression and Defense” on Sunday, he said the three European countries had withdrawn from diplomacy with Iran in light of their actions and failures, and said they wanted to make up for the failure in Vienna.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Gharibabadi pointed to cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that Iran had shown good faith to the UN nuclear monitor and reached an agreement in Cairo.
He said Iran was considering reviewing its cooperation and interaction with the IAEA, adding that it would launch a fundamental review once the draft resolution was issued.
Foreign Minister Ghalibabadi said Iran is taking legal action regarding allegations against US President Donald Trump over Israel’s June 13 attack on Iran, but that the Presidential Legal Affairs Office is responsible for legal action regarding Israel’s aggression against Iran. It is expected that the Secretariat will soon announce what actions Iran will take in this regard.
President Trump’s statement further increases the responsibility of the United States. However, while the US was legally responsible for the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, it now also accepts responsibility for the Israeli attack.
Unsurprisingly, Iran’s legal pursuits will now be different, with Iranian diplomats stressing that Iran’s Foreign Ministry is indeed considering filing charges against US President Trump.
