TEHRAN – Former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has called for Rafael Grossi, director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to be rejected due to irresponsible and false reports on Iran.
Five days after Israel’s military strike targeted Iran’s territory, Tel Aviv claimed it was intended to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and Grossi repeated in an interview with CNN that the agency has not found evidence of organized Iran’s efforts to build nuclear weapons.
“It’s certainly no indication that Iran is on the brink of developing nuclear weapons,” Grossi said. “It’s not a problem for tomorrow, but maybe it’s not a problem for years either. Still, this remains speculation and I’m stressing. We simply don’t know.”
As a result, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakaei said in a post on Thursday in X that Grossi betrayed the non-enhancing regime and made it a partner in an unfair attack war against Iran.
“DG @Rafaelmgrossi: “There was no evidence of a systematic effort (by Iran) to move to nuclear weapons,” officials gave this truth to Grossi. The regime engages in a war of attack on Iran and launches illegal attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities. ”
“Do you know how many innocent Iranians were killed or plagued as a result of this criminal war? How were international civil servants tested to assign UN leaders?
Misleading stories involve Grossi having disastrous consequences and demanding accountability.
You betrayed the non-proliferation regime. You have made the IAEA a partner in this unfair attack war. The IAEA has been transformed into a convenient tool for non-NPT members to deprive NPT members of their fundamental rights under Article 4.
Zarif follows his comments, “Grossi’s irresponsible and false report of the IAEA caused irreparable damage to the agency. He must be held responsible for his accomplice in the death of an Iranian attacker due to the Israeli attack as his report.”
