TEHRAN – Yemeni military has launched a new, sophisticated military operation to shift its focus to the increasing costs of American media in the US bombing campaign.
According to the US outlet, President Donald Trump’s military campaign against Yemen costs nearly $1 billion within three weeks.
Sources cited by CNN say the bombing campaign, which began on March 15th and killed civilian scores, has been successful in undermining the Yemeni military’s capabilities.
The Pentagon co-staff, staff from the US Central Command, the US Indo-Pacific Command, the Director of Policy Bureau, and the State Department have confirmed to Congress that Yemeni forces are strengthening their bunkers and continuing to maintain underground arms stockpile.
US media reports show that these tactics are similar to those used during a year-long strike under the Biden administration.
On Wednesday evening, Yemeni forces revealed that their UAV forces had attacked military facilities in Tel Aviv.
In a statement, they declared that the operation was carried out “in support of the oppressed Palestinians and their brave fighters, in response to the continued massacre of the Gaza brothers.”
The statement also condemned Yemen’s continued US invasion and highlighted the Yemeni military engaged in direct conflict.
“In response to crimes committed against civilians by several governors, our Air Force has used several drones to carry out precision operations targeting multiple enemy warships led by Truman, a US aircraft in the North Red Sea,” the statement said.
Yemeni officials reaffirmed their commitment to the military support front in solidarity with Gaza.
“Yemen will never abandon the oppressed Palestinians and will not surrender to American invasions. Yemen, as usual, is a cemetery for invaders,” the statement added.
Earlier on Wednesday, Yemeni military announced the collapse of another US-made MQ-9 reconnaissance drone in the Al-Jawf region using domestically produced ground-air-inter-air missiles.
Brigadier Yahya Saree confirmed that the 18th US MQ-9 drone from November 2023 was the third time in just 10 days. Each drones come with a price tag up to tuning up to about $35 million.
He stressed that this is another response to the ongoing US aggression, including recent airstrikes that caused civilian deaths, injuries and extensive property damage.
Sally added that the Yemeni army is “prepared to respond completely to a critical response to an attempt to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty, security or stability,” and that the operation will continue until “the attack on Gaza is finished and the blockade is lifted.”
Meanwhile, US airstrikes on Wednesday targeted early morning capital Sanaa and several other states.
On Tuesday, additional US strikes collided with the coastal region of Hudaida and two other cities in western Yemen, resulting in further casualties.
Despite the escalation, Yemeni forces continue to force blockades of Israeli and American maritime traffic within designated operating zones spanning the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden.
Yemeni officials also warned of “future surprises” targeting the US Navy and Israeli regime.
As the US attacks on Yemen approach the fourth week, costs continue to rise. However, Washington has done little to curb Yemen’s operations, which were carried out in solidarity with Gaza.
