TEHRAN – The 26th Fajr International Film Festival Market will be held in Shiraz, Fars Province from November 28 to December 2, in conjunction with the 43rd Fajr International Film Festival.
“The film market will be held in parallel with festivals and film screenings, and will attract buyers and exhibitors from different countries,” Film Market Director Fatemeh Javahersaz announced on Wednesday.
Regarding this year’s film market, he explained, “This time, buyers and exhibitors from regional countries, African countries, the Caucasus region, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia will participate.”
Regarding the participation of Iranian companies, Javahersaz said, “Iranian distribution companies and film institutions have been invited and we will host them as much as possible.”
Describing the market’s format, she said: “We have designated booths for national and international participants to facilitate negotiation and interaction in an environment designed in accordance with international standards for film markets around the world.”
Regarding how the change in timing compared to previous years has affected the film market, she said, “Any date can be close to or overlap with other markets, and our festival is no exception. The changes in timing and venue have brought a freshness to the event for both regular and new market participants.”
“As mentioned above, the timing may overlap or be close to other markets, such as the Asian TV Forum & Market in Singapore, which takes place two days after the Festival Market, or the American Film Market, which takes place in November. This is common for international festivals,” she explained.
The 43rd Fajr International Film Festival will be held in Shiraz from November 26th to December 3rd.
