Tehran – More than 100 well-known veteran artists from various fields have issued a mass statement denounced Zionist enemy attacks on Iran’s homeland.
Facing recent hostile acts of film, television, theatre, music, visual arts, poetry, literature, traditional crafts and architecture, the signatories have expressed unwavering support for the country’s resistance and unity.
More than 100 veteran artists have already approved the statement, and the number continues to grow, according to the Veteran Artist Institute’s Public Relations Office.
In their statement, the artists highlighted their deep connection with Iran and its sovereignty. They reflected age and experience, noting that their words were guided by wisdom and reason. As they said, “As seasoned artists, we prefer to speak with reasoning and wisdom, due to age and experience, and avoid passivity. Our maturity is forced to recognize that words alone are not enough in the face of such an unprecedented villain.”
The artist referred to the wise words of the Persian poet Feldousi. Feldousi advised that “if all the tricks fail, the sword is justified,” highlighting the need for critical action to defend Iran. “Now, the best and most devoted sons and daughters of our country, those who gave their lives to the promotion of Iran, have been taken from us, so it’s time to respond with decisive action,” they declared. They called on Iran’s brave power to “fight back to protect the sovereignty of our hometown,” and emphasized that patience was thinly worn and a powerful response was essential.
The statement conveyed a sense of determination and preparation in favor of justice, but the veterans also acknowledged the sensitivity of their position, “As elders and artists, we retain sensitivity in our words, but feel a deep obligation and preparation to support justice and honor.” They lamented the loss of a prominent figure, celebrated the eternal union with Martianism, and sent their pitiful dol and the highest wishes to their families.
The statement concluded with a call for unity and resilience, urging the public to defend its integrity.
Some of the signatories include Dariush Arjmand, Manouchehr Azari, Saeed Amir-Soleimani, Safa Aqajani, Mahmoud Pakniat, Homa Jedikar, Bahram Hasiri, Akbar Rahmati, Edna Zeinarian, Mahvash Sabrkon, Mehvash sabrkon, Menadi, Mahvash Sabrkon, Mahvash Sabrkon, Mahvash Sabrkon, Ahmad Vakili and many others, and the list continues to grow as more artists express their solidarity.
