Tehran – The 12th edition of the International Federation of Robosport Associations (FIRA) Open Competition is scheduled to take place in Tehran from April 15th to 18th.
A total of 480 participants will be participating in the event this year. According to the IRNA, it includes three main parts, featuring FIRA Air, Fira Challenge and Fira Youth, featuring 22 leagues for students under the age of 14, 14-18 and students who graduate in fields related to robotics and artificial intelligence, as well as students from the age of 14 to under the age of 18.
FIRA Air includes the use of autonomous flying vehicles in urban and disaster scenarios.
The FIRA challenges focus on complex challenges in the setting of industry, rescue and service robots, with FIRA youths competing for young participants such as mission-impossible events.
Winners can participate in the 30th Fira Roboworld Cup Open, scheduled to be held at South Korea’s Great EG from August 11th to 15th.

24 Iranian robot teams who participated in the FIRA 2024 Roboworld Cup in San Luis, Brazil, have received 17 awards. The 29th edition of the FIRA Robotics and Artificial Intelligence World Conference took place from August 5th to 9th.

The 7-17-year-old Iranian student ranked second in seven countries at Kazakhstan Roboland 2025, held in Karaganda City from March 27-29.
The event brought in over 750 young inventors from seven countries, Kazinform’s news agency reported.
The International Festival competed in 23 categories, attracting 362 teams from Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Over 2,000 children participated in the exclusion trial, and over 400 teams competed in the qualifying round to reach the Roboland 2025 final.
Roundtable Discussion Digital Transformation in Education: Trends and prospects were held as part of the festival to focus on digitalising the education process and share best practices on STEM education development.
The Iranian student, ages 7-17, ranked second in 31 countries at the Robotchallenge 2024, held from August 9-11 in Beijing, China.
Over 5,000 contestants participated in the sport. China and Romania ranked first and third respectively, the IRNA reported.
A total of 16 groups, each of three students, represented Iran in the robotics competition. The Iranian team competed in Lobosmo, Soccer, Innovation, Robot Rugby and Technical Report League.
For the second year in a row, the Iranian team was able to rank second in the Technical Report. Two U12 Iranian teams have won silver and bronze medals in the Innovation League. China was ranked first.
The Iranian team, who participated in the 2024 World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, won nine championships, seven runner-up positions, and finished third in these competitions. In the Flying Vehicle League, two teams ranked first and one third.
Two teams won their second rankings in Robosport, Innovation and Business League in the FIRA Youth Competition in the U14 category.
Also, in the U19 category, two teams won their first rankings, while in the Robosports league another team was first ranked in robotics innovation and business.
Additionally, the two teams ranked second in the Rescue and Crisis Management Robots and the Robo Sport League.
