The Iranian Foreign Minister attended a meeting of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee on Saturday, and later said, “Today’s meeting is very good, constructive and scientific.”
“Today, we had a very detailed discussion about the recent agreement between Iran and the IAEA,” Araguchi said.
After the meeting, a spokesman for the Congress committee said, “Our country’s foreign minister said, “It is not preferred to activate snapbacks, and although it has political and psychological effects, there has been exaggeration about its economic impact. The Committee of the Supreme National Security Council, and the approval of this committee, amounts to the approval of the highest National Security Council, which Ali Larijani is responsible for.”
“He emphasized the accurate and complete implementation of the law suspending cooperation with the agency at this meeting by Ebrahim Azitzi, director of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Parliament,” Rezai said.
Meanwhile, Ebalhim Azitzi, the chairman of the committee, told journalists there after meeting with the foreign minister that “one of Iran’s options is to withdraw from the NPT” if European countries trigger a snapback mechanism.
