Foreign Minister Araguchi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and told him Ali Khamenei from Iranian leader Ayatollah in the Kremlin on Thursday.
The top Iranian diplomats conveyed a message written by the leader of the Islamic Revolution to the Russian president, explaining the views and status of the Islamic Republic of Iran on bilateral relations agenda and issues of regional and international development.
Pointing out the importance of signing a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Iranian Islamic Republic and the Russian Federation as the most important indication of cooperation between the two countries, Aragut stressed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s resolve to strengthen and expand bilateral relations with the Russian Federation at all levels.
Russian President Putin emphasized the importance of Iran-Russia’s strategic partnership, calling for strengthened relations between the two countries, highlighting the means of ensuring cooperation and coordination on regional and international issues, securing the interests of both countries, and maintaining and strengthening peace and stability.
In addition to bilateral relations, regional issues and existing threats, Putin and Aragut discussed the latest status of negotiations regarding Ukraine, nuclear issues and international issues.

Upon arriving in Moscow, Aragut said he intends to consult with Russian officials about nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
He is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on April 18th.
Indirect consultations between the Middle East Steve Witkov and the envoy of the US President Aragut took place in Oman on April 12th.
Both sides described it as “constructive,” and Araguchi expressed his gratitude to Oman Foreign Minister Badr al-Busadi for promoting dialogue.
The second round of negotiations is scheduled to take place in Rome on April 19th.
