“I had a very good meeting with the Russian president and discussed the ongoing developments,” Araguc told reporters after visiting the Russian capital, Moscow, where he met with Putin on Monday.
Russia was a serious party in regards to talks between the JCPOA and P5+1. The country is alongside Iran, and we have been constantly discussing and working together.
“In our meeting with Putin, we discussed in detail what was happening right now,” the minister said, adding that attacks on Iran and its nuclear sites will raise great concerns for the region, the non-proliferation regime and the international community.
He added that Russia’s stance has been so good and stiff so far, adding that while the Russians have taken a step in the UN Security Council taking the attack on Iran, they are facing us. Other council members need to do something against the US and Israeli attacks, Araguchi continued.
During a visit to Moscow, the Russian capital, Aragut met with Putin on Monday to discuss it.
A top Iranian diplomat said Iran-Russia relations are close and historic, and have been promoted to strategic levels in recent years.
Referring to Russia’s positive role in helping Iran arrive at the nuclear agreement, Aragut said Tehran has always had close consultations with Moscow on all issues related to global security. Regarding Iran’s nuclear program, he added that the Russian Federation, as a partner, is currently building a nuclear power plant in Buscher for Iran.
Araguchi expressed his gratitude for Russia’s very solid and correct attitude, condemning the Israeli regime’s attacks on the US and Iran, adding that Russia is standing on the right side of history in accordance with international law.
He emphasized that levels of tension are currently increasing due to unfair attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States, adding that Israel and the United States’ aggressive actions are completely illegal and violated international law and norms.
Putin reiterated his country’s position on his part to condemn the attacks by the US and Israeli regimes on Iran, emphasizing that “these attacks are unfair and unfounded attacks.”
He pointed to the deep, good and reliable bond between Iran and Russia, saying, “The unfair attacks on Iran have no foundation, and Russia is doing its best to help the Iranian people and find out how they can find a solution.”
