Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich met with the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, who traveled to Tehran on Wednesday on an official two-day visit.
“We had a useful discussion with visiting the IAEA Chief Grossi. In the coming months, agents can play an important role in the peaceful settlement of Iran’s nuclear files,” said Araguchi in the X post.
“As various spoilers gather together and derail the current negotiations, we need a director of peace,” added the top Iranian diplomat.
“Our predisposition is to trust Grossi in its mission to keep institutions away from politics and politicization and focus on technical missions,” he concluded his post.
In X’s post after discussions with Araguchi, Grossi described Tehran’s consultation with him as “important.”
“Cooperation with the IAEA is essential to providing reliable assurances about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program at a time when diplomacy is urgently needed,” he added in the post.
