TEHRAN – Iran’s newly appointed Cote de Ivoire and the ambassador to Madagascar held separate meetings with Foreign Minister Abbas Aragucci on Tuesday before departing.
Gholamreza Mir-Mohammad Migoony, Ambassador to Abidjan, presented the proposed work plan to the Minister and discussed the priorities of his mission. Araguchi highlighted the importance of Iran’s relations with African countries, and the need to expand cooperation with Ivory Coast, particularly in the areas of trade and economic development. Migoony previously served as Iranian ambassador in Niger and the Directorate of Construction and Support Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At another meeting, Alileza Sabzari, Iran’s new envoy to Madagascar, explained to the Foreign Minister about the agenda for his upcoming mission at Antananarivo. Araguchi wanted him to succeed and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with Madagascar, with a special focus on economic and commercial relationships. Sabzari previously led the policy and economic programmes department in the economic diplomacy sector of the province.
The Foreign Minister reiterated that boosting relations with African countries is a central priority in Iran’s foreign policy, highlighting the economic potential of the continent and the importance of strengthening partnerships through diplomacy.
