“On Monday, the Carnegie International Atomic Policy Conference will begin by taking on one of the most pressing nuclear issues of our time,” Carnegie Peament wrote on his X account.
“Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araguchi will be taking part in the conference for a virtual keynote address, hosted by economist Steve Kol, days after the US and Iran have finished their second round of nuclear talk,” the source added.
When I invite Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to speak at a famous conference in Washington, there will be a multi-tiered message.
This biennial conference, attended by American decision makers, diplomats and nuclear industry experts, is an important platform for assessing the prevalent intellectual climate in the US capital.
This existence is not merely an expression of Iranian views, but an attempt to redefine Tehran’s position in the US analytical circle.
The second negotiations between Iran and the two sides began and ended in Rome on Saturday. Foreign Minister Abbas Arakich and Steve Witkov, special envoys to the Middle East of the US President, were top negotiators. Omani Foreign Minister Bador bin Hamad al-Busaidi was mediated by shuffling between the two sides.
A spare round was held in Muscat, Oman’s capital, on April 12th.
The talks aim to reach an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program and the elimination of sanctions against the Islamic Republic. They demanded that President Donald Trump writes a letter to the leader of the Islamic Revolution and then seyed Ali Khamenei and open negotiations to a deal between Tehran and Washington. Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from a previous agreement with Iran in 2018. Ayatollah Khamenei has approved the indirect negotiations.
