“The names of the Persian Gulf, like many geographical designations, are deeply rooted in human history. Iran has never opposed the use of names such as Oman, the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, the Red Sea, etc. The use of these names does not imply ownership by any particular country, but reflects the shared respect of the human group prime minister.
“In contrast, attempts to change the historically established name of the Persian Gulf have been firmly condemned, showing an intention of hostility towards Iran and its people. Such biased behavior is a humiliation for all Iranians, regardless of their background or place of residence,” he said.
“Let’s hope that the absurd rumors about the Persian Gulf around us are nothing more than a disinformation campaign by “eternal warriors” that anger and upset Iranians around the world,” he added.
“I am confident that @Realdonaldtrump recognizes that the name of the Persian Gulf is centuries old, recognized by all cartographers and international organizations, and used by all leaders in the region in official communications until recently in the 1960s,” writes Araghchi.
“The myopia steps associated with this have no effectiveness or legal or geographical effect, but they only bring out the rage of all Iranians from all life and political persuasion in Iran, the United States and around the world,” he pointed out.
