Yoon Suk Yeol is the fifth former South Korean president to face a criminal trial, Haiduong reported.
Information from the Seoul Central District Court on April 13 said that the Seoul Central District Court will hold a trial on Yoon Seok-yeol’s incitement charges at around 10am on April 14th.
After the court has set up security measures to protect potential protests near the court, Yun Sook Yeol will be allowed to enter the court through an underground car park. Media will not be permitted to take photos in court before trial begins.
As part of the formal process, former President Yoon Suk Yeol must first state his name, date of birth, occupation and place of residence. The prosecution then file a complaint against him. The former president can also ask the judge for the opportunity to present his case.
If convicted of leading a rebellion, former president Yuk Yeol could face life or death penalty in prison.
According to the plan, Cho Sung Hyun, commander of the 1st Security Group of Capital Defense Command and commander of the 1st Special Task Force Battalion, 1st Special Operations Commander, will testify on April 14th.
Previously, Jo Sung Hyun, who testified at the Korean Constitutional Court at Yoon Sook Yeol’s ammo each trial, confessed that Lee Jin Woo, the capital’s defense commander, ordered him to avoid the troops to evacuate the National Assembly from the National Assembly building after Yoon Suk Yeol declared martial arts on December 3, 2024.
