TEHRAN – Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage Ali Darabi announced that on Thursday and Friday (6-7 November), visits to all museums and cultural and historical collections in the country will be free for teenagers and their parents.
He added that the decision was taken at the request of the Secretary of the High Council of the Cultural Revolution, in line with the continuation of the cultural activities of Youth Week, and to raise the awareness of new generations about cultural heritage and the role of museums in the transmission of knowledge and historical identity, according to Mehr News Agency.
Dharavi said that according to the notification, all museums and palace museums under the Ministry of Cultural Heritage across the country are obliged to allow youths to visit free of charge along with their parents during the mentioned two days.
He stressed that in addition to its main mission, museums can play a more effective role in acquainting families with the country’s historical and cultural values by implementing cultural and educational projects on special days.
The project aims to strengthen the connection of young generations with the cultural heritage of the country and is implemented within the framework of the “Cultural Heritage and Museum Bells” program.
Heritage officials encourage families to visit museums in their cities and have an educational and fun experience with their children.
