Tehran Iranshall Theatre Complex in Tehran will be performing a performance of Friedrich Dürenmatt’s “Pray Stringberg” starting Monday.
Mohammadreza Maleki directed the play and performed the play alongside Majid Asadi and Safura Khoshtinat, Irna reported.
“Play Strindberg” is a comedic play by Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt, written in 1968 and published in 1969. It is a free adaptation of August Strindberg’s “The Dance of Death” (1900), and uses the character from Strindberg. The title is a reference to Jacques Lucier’s recording of the “Play Bach” series.
The August Strindberg play involves a husband and wife living in mutual hatred and is tied to the convention itself. Stringberg, a parody of Friedrich Dürenmatt’s 1969 dark comedy, carried more concepts into the surreal and almost hallucinating world of evil caricatures. The story is thin and filled with gimmicks, but the actor he created it practices the craft with an uninterrupted 90 minutes of uninterrupted minutes and delighted abandonment.
The play is a boxing match in round 12, with the principal being introduced as a combatant. Edgar is a failed soldier and has been exiled to a remote island, where the inhabitants further expel him for his abrasiveness. His wife, Alice, is an actress called actress who believes that marriage has destroyed her chances of greatness. The third member of Menage is Alice’s cousin Kurt, and later her ex-lovers. The bell rings. The action begins.
Durenmat’s unhappy marriage may be the catalyst for his clever satire, but whatever his motivations are, he produces an interesting and terrifying picture of a 25-year marriage.
Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921-1990) was a Swiss author and playwright. He was a supporter of the theatre’s grand theatre, reflecting recent experiences in World War II. The works of the politically active author included avant-garde drama, philosophical crime novels, and creepy satire.
“Play Strindberg” will remain on stage at the Iranshahr Theater in the artists park on North Mousavi Street, Taleqani Street, until May 9th.
