Beijing China and Russia demonstrate the strength of their alliance, dismissing speculation that Moscow will take ties with Beijing as part of a possible agreement with the US over Ukraine.
President Xi Jinping told Sergei Shoigu, secretary of the Russian Federation’s Security Council, that China and Russia are friendly neighbors and true friends.
The Chinese president, who hosted Russian officials in Beijing, emphasized the importance of his communication with Russian Vladimir Putin.
Xi China said he and Putin are developing a comprehensive plan to create a deep exchange of China-Russia relations and a series of major international and regional issues, according to the Chinese news agency.
He pointed out that Beijing and Moscow should promote lasting goodwill and friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Shoigu said on his part that the Russian president appreciates his sincere friendship and close contact with his Chinese counterparts.
Russian officials welcomed the strategic ties between Russia and China, stressing that such relationships would not target third parties.
On Monday, XI received a call from Putin describing Russia and China as “good neighbors” and “true friends who share Weal and Woe.”
Chinese leaders have expressed support for talks between Russia and the United States to end the war with Ukraine. Putin also reiterated his country’s commitment to strengthening “strategic cooperation” with China.

The phone portrayed confidence in Russia and China’s longstanding alliance amid concerns that US President Donald Trump’s efforts to promote closer ties with Moscow could put Beijing at a disadvantage.
Since returning to the oval office on January 20th, Trump has shown that he wants to work with Putin to end the war with Ukraine that began in February 2022.
He accused Ukraine of launching a conflict and called President Voldy Mirzelensky a “dictator.”
Trump and Zelensky clashed at an angry meeting at the White House on Friday. The US president denounced his Ukrainian counterpart and told him to be more “thank you” for Washington’s support.
He denounced Zelensky for “World War I gambling” for not going with Washington’s ceasefire plan.
The claims suggesting that China has concerns over the resolution of the Ukraine conflict are merely a misunderstanding. As has been repeated by Chinese people, including President XI. Beijing cannot escape efforts to help end the Ukrainian conflict through consultations between the US and Russia. Western countries have sanctioned Chinese companies over alleged involvement in the Ukraine conflict
Support from Russia. Resolution of the conflict could at least help to improve relations with European countries that have accused Beijing of supporting Russian war with Ukraine on the grounds of Asian countries.
