Tehran – Google has been accused of providing both the tools and platforms to promote Israel’s war efforts, support military operations and shape a global narrative.
Israel reportedly called on the US technology giant to obscure the satellite image of sensitive sites in a striking escalation of digital control, as Yemen solidarized with the Palestinians in Gaza to strengthen Israeli strategic targets with drones and missile targets.
Reports suggest that Israeli Mossad Intelligence Services has submitted a request to hide particularly sensitive military sites. This latest development, alongside Israel’s $45 million promotional agreement with Google, highlights the role of technology giants in advancing Israel’s agenda while obscuring the humanitarian catastrophe of Gaza.
Refusal to manufacture
The September 2025 agreement, published on Drop Site News, was tasked with Google to carry out a six-month global propaganda operation through the advertising platform YouTube and Display & Video 360. Even if the United Nations declared hunger in Gaza and its surrounding areas, millions of views were generated worldwide.
Weaponized Propaganda in the Star
Gaza’s health ministry reports that more than 420 Palestinians, including almost 150 children, have died of hunger and malnutrition as a result of Israeli blockades of food, fuel and drugs.
Instead of turning the course, Israel has spent tens of millions of people on paid advertising to deny hunger and attack the credibility of international organizations such as the UN and UNRWA. According to the contract, an additional $3 million was spent on Elon Musk’s X and about $2 million Outbrain/Teas to amplify similar narratives.
From Knesset’s discussion to corporate contracts
The propaganda strategy was first openly discussed in the Israeli parliament, Knesset, on March 2, when the total lockdown in Gaza was announced.
Lawmakers focused on Israel’s “image issues” rather than civilian suffering. IDF spokesman Avichai Edrei proposed a digital campaign that “explains that we are not hungry” that was realized through Google’s $45 million contract.
Minister of Whitewash advocates for starvation
The campaign will be carried out alongside a public call by Israeli ministers to starve Palestinians.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: “Whether water or electricity is dying from hunger or surrender.”
Heritage Minister Amityi Eliyahu: “The Palestinians must starve… If there are civilians who fear their lives, they should pass the immigration plan.”
Google’s platform amplifies messages that erase these openly genocide statements from the global view, predicting false narratives of abundance.
Project Nimbus and Hidden Maps
These propaganda efforts are based on the January 2025 Project Nimbus revelation, where Google and Amazon provided Israel with AI, cloud computing and battlefield tools. By mid-2024, Israel’s National Cyber Bureau recognized Nimbus’ direct contribution to combat operations. “Thanks to Nimbus’ public cloud, amazing things are happening during the battle… these things play a key role in victory,” coach Gabby Portnoy said.
The latest report on Mossad’s Google requests obscure satellite images of sensitive Israel sites and combines its role in propaganda operations to show the dual function of the company.
Two co-inflicts
Silicon Valley’s role in Gaza goes beyond just technology. It also extends to the formation of the story. On the one hand, high-tech companies offer AI, cloud computing, and battlefield tools and war hardware to support targets and military operations. Meanwhile, they provide software for deception: YouTube, X, Outbrain, and Google Ads that spread propaganda, deny hunger, trust the UN, and suppress satellite imagery.
The silence of the western media
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese warns that Google is benefiting from ongoing violence in Gaza. In response, Google co-founder Sergey Brin dismissed the UN concerns as “transparently anti-Semitism.” Meanwhile, many Western media reflect the point of Israeli talk, leaving behind independent outlets such as drop site news revealing the involvement of the tech giant.
Since October 2023, Israel’s siege and attacks have taken the lives of nearly 65,000 Palestinians. Beyond the battlefield, this devastation relies on Washington’s political support and active collaboration from Silicon Valley.
