Due to the adjustments made in this regard, approximately 87% of the goods traded between five member states of Iran and the five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan) will be traded at zero tariffs as of May 15, 2025.
The attached list of goods with zero customs duties for exports from Iran to Eurasian countries is based on a harmonized system (HS) code, the organization added.
Earlier on May 12, a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the implementation of an agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the five economic coalitions of Soviet countries, would help both sides promote trade and economic cooperation.
Implementing the agreement in the free trade zone between Iran and the EAEU will boost trade and economic cooperation between Tehran and the Union’s member states, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told Ria Novosti.
According to Press TV, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Oberchuk said in late March that Iran and the EAEU will begin implementing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on May 15th.
“The implementation of this agreement between Iran and EAEU member states will significantly increase trade and economic exchanges between Iran and the five countries,” Baghaei added.
