In a telephone conversation with Council of Europe President Antonio Costa on Wednesday night, Pezeschkian said past cooperation between Iran and the United Nations nuclear watchdog was based on principles and transparency.
Both sides discussed the latest international developments, including the recent 12-day Israeli War, and the latest international developments, including the prospects for Iran-European union relations.
Pezeschkian said the Islamic Republic remains committed to constructive engagement, regional peace and global stability.
He also warned that further attacks against Iran would be met with even more decisive responses.
The president described the actions of the Israeli government as criminal and destabilisation, noting that Iran was accurately attacked by Israel and the United States, pursuing dialogue and diplomacy.
He said that when he met Iran’s solid response, the invaders were forced to demand a ceasefire.
Israel attacked Iran on June 13 with an unattacked attack, assassinated military commanders and nuclear scientists on targeted strikes, and killed civilians in air raids in residential areas. The United States also took part in the war on the ninth day by bombing three major Iranian nuclear presence. Iran responded strongly by attacking Israeli targets and US Air Force Bases in Qatar.
In response to Costa’s concern over a decline in cooperation with Iranian institutions, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to dialogue, mutual respect and international law.
He noted that the recent law passed by Congress to halt cooperation with Iranian agencies is a response to the biased, unprofessional conduct of the IAEA chief.
The president added that the agency remains unfair, its silence over attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and the inaction in the face of violations of international law have undermined its credibility.
Such actions prompted Congress to pass new laws, he said. If membership in international organizations, such as the UN Nuclear Watch, does not involve balanced benefits, it becomes pointless, he added.
Costa said the EU is committed to diplomacy and rejects double standards by international organizations.
He also condemned Israeli human rights abuses in Gaza, expressing sadness over the death of Iranian civilians in the recent Israeli attacks, underscoring the need to end the war and provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians.
