Hamidreza Masoudi emphasized that the South Pars communal fields play an important role in meeting a large part of the country’s energy needs.
He said a comprehensive and coordinated plan involving complex mechanisms is underway to maintain and increase gas production capacity from the South Pulse field.
Mr. Masoudi emphasized the need to accelerate the development of this joint oil field in order to achieve the goals set by the Ministry of Oil and the Iranian National Oil Company (NIOC).
He said completing remaining offshore and onshore projects, finalizing a 35-month plan, and implementing strategic projects such as drilling 35 on-site wells and pressure build-up initiatives will help maintain and increase gas production capacity. He pointed out that it was helpful.
These efforts are expected to improve the energy balance and address some of the pent-up gas demand across various sectors.
Massoudi added that despite international sanctions and restrictions, complex measures are being taken to optimally manage the offshore drilling rig and complete and rework the remaining wells. These wells are expected to come online according to a planned schedule.
