Palestinian health officials said at least 146 people were confirmed to have been killed on the third day of Israel’s latest bombing campaign. Many hundreds were being treated in hospitals, and countless others were still buried under the tiled rub, Business Standard reported.
Israel said it is being mobilized to seize Gaza’s more position in a new campaign called “Operation Gideon,” following this week’s visit to the Middle East by US President Donald Trump. All supplies that have entered Gaza have been suspended since the beginning of March, leading to rising international concerns over the light letter of the 2.3 million residents of Enclave, the report added.
Hamas Leadership Media Advisor Taher Al-Nono told Reuters that indirect talks for a new round with Israeli delegation began on Saturday, debating all issues “without prior conditions.”
“The Hamas delegation outlined the group’s position and the need to end the war, withdraw from Gaza for prisoners, Israelis, and return humanitarian aid and all the needs of the Gaza people to the strip,” he added.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a statement that negotiations on Hamas’ contract to release Israeli hostages have resumed in Doha. He said talks began when Israel first agreed to a ceasefire or to lift the blockade.
Israeli military said it is mobilizing large strikes and troops with the aim of achieving “operational control” in parts of Gaza.
Gaza health officials said most of the people killed on Saturday are in towns at the northern tip of the enclave, including Beit Rahiya and the Jabaria Refugee Camp, on the southern side of Khan Yunis. They said 459 people were injured.
Israeli forces had told people to leave the northern region on Friday.
“Northern Gaza is witnessing a systematic campaign of extinction,” Hamas said in a statement, calling on Arab leaders at the Baghdad summit to take actionable steps to stop the attack and ensure the provision of aid.
