TEHRAN – Once Gaza’s genocide exceeded 700 days, Hamas accused the Israeli Prime Minister of intentionally thwarting mediation efforts.
In a statement, Hamas described Benjamin Netanyahu as a “war criminal” and blamed him for obstructing all attempts by international mediators to reach a ceasefire or political settlement. He said the movement demonstrated the greatest flexibility in negotiations with mediators.
With the growing number of critics around the world increasing, the Israeli Prime Minister has argued that he has extended Gaza’s genocide to not only maintain power but also to avoid facing prison sentences. They say by continuing the war of genocide, he is trying to distract the public from continuing corruption trials and use the atmosphere of war to protect himself from legal accountability.
“700 days and the world continues to witness one of the most terrifying massacres in modern history, in sound and image,” Hamas’ statement read.
The resistance campaign accused Israel’s occupying government of violating all international laws and humanitarian norms aimed at protecting civilians during armed conflicts.
The Israeli regime said it had publicly pursued genocide policies against the Palestinian people through genocide, starvation, siege and denial of basic necessities for human survival.
The movement emphasized that Israeli actions constitute full-scale genocide, ethnic cleansing and forced displacement.
It also took directly responsibility for the US administration for making these war crimes possible by providing political and military support to the occupation and preventing UN agencies from playing a role in halting violence and holding them responsible.
Hamas has renewed its call to the Arab and Islamic countries, the United Nations, and in particular the international community, including the UN Security Council, taking immediate and effective action. The movement emphasized that the condemnation statement was no longer sufficient.
Furthermore, Hamas praised the growth of global grassroots solidarity with the Palestinian people and welcomed the launch of an international “still fleet” aimed at breaking the blockade of Gaza.
The movement urged people in the Arab and Muslim world, as well as supporters of justice around the world, to escalate protests and mobilization in cities and public squares until the genocide ends and the siege is lifted.
