Tehran – Z, the superhero of this story, soars up on the imaginary skyline and does not attack with an iron fist. His mission is different. It’s about demolishing the barricades of fake news and pulling the truth from under the lie blew Zionists send to the media every day about Gaza. In “The Last Superhero: The Battle of Palestine”, Z looks for the roots of the 20th century Zionism and Israeli project. This is a project through its propaganda machine, where all Palestinians label “Hamas” to justify the murder of women and children.
In this opposite world, the media is no longer a tool for information, but a weapon to hide Israeli crimes and obscure the reality of the Palestinian massacre.
Mark Ulizer, the Australian author of the book, created the work not as mere entertainment, but as a hybrid of narrative fiction and historical political analysis. He adopts a superhero metaphor to weave colonial history, biblical references and modern politics.
Published just ten days after the first anniversary on October 7th, “The Last Superhero” highlights the false Zionist interpretations of the sacred texts, portraying them as religious covers of colonialism and genocide. The book’s format is a blend of Z’s story and the author’s media, Zionism and direct commentary on the ongoing war in Gaza.
Below is an exclusive interview with Mark Ulizar about his work in the Tehran Times.
Your book combines direct historical political analysis with Z’s voice. Why did you choose this structure?
How can we give voiceless people the means to tell their stories? The answer is not through documentaries, but through a storyline that captures all vested nuances, interests, stories, and the meanings we attach to the notions of good and evil, fair and injustice, moral and immorality. This story evolves from dry historical facts, shaped by Western concepts of fairness and justice, and is something that we all can relate to, including superheroes.
This type of storytelling is something Israel did to gain Western support, but it is not based on historical facts, but has biases and stories that are distorted by falsehoods and designed to appeal to the public. The difference is that, ultimately, the truth follows on the lies and manufactured stories.
What inspired your book to use such a wide range of historical comparisons, from the Bible to Nazi Germany?
The quest for truth requires historical and religious context. By following this trail, you can uncover elusive truths. What I found was that old Nazism had evolved into Zionism, and that it had kept its purpose intact. With the addition of today’s complexity, the onslaught that Israel unleashed in Gaza needed a book to decipher.
As we follow this reverse trail in that story, we also see how evil sought to hide itself through coronavirus and cruelty, and how it sought to remake religion and faith by diluting the truth with new rifts. This allowed Israel to serve on the agenda using God’s name.
Power was seized by wealthy minorities with vast wealth. These groups form part of an interconnected, global secret society that sets the narrative and determines what is considered right or wrong. Democracy is used to justify evil actions against other countries. It is justified not only against other countries, but also against their own people, those who demonstrate or protest against them.
By seeing the truth, we must break the spell cast by this evil in a reversal of reality. Otherwise, it’s not politics, religion, or democracy, and nothing will help or save us.
To write this book, I had to study the Quran. Did you think that part (probably compared to the Bible) was the most impressive or surprising?
Religious texts provide both prophetic and historical contexts, each offering insight into the meaning of existence and why things are. In deciphering these for the book, I kept in mind that unlike the Quran, the Bible rewritten their messages over time.
An excerpt from this book pointed out that what is happening in Gaza is not just a war. That doesn’t mean that we should be part of humanity or that we are human. The Jewish Talmud and the Qur’an save the world, and for each and every one of us, our lives are the world. None of us asked to be born and no one had to ask us to live. This means that we all have to become part of the solution to dispel the problem. This is a solution that requires activities with incredible courage and passion.
“It is certainly them that are corrupt, but they cannot recognize it” (Quran 2:12).
Ultimately, the true message of these Bibles is that we should seek peace through forgiveness for our failures. This message is nullified by stories of separation, qualifications, hatred and vengeance. All are used to promote different agendas.
You refer to the concept of “fake messiah.” What motivates us to deal with the distorted eschatological interpretations of Zionist Judaism and Christianity?
We live in an interesting time. Many American Israel and Christians believe that the obvious biblical prophecies unfold in the Middle East. This will encourage many American Israeli and Christian Zionists to act towards the Palestinians, and believe this will lead to the Second Coming. This sets the stage for the welcome of the Antichrist, thereby enabling what follows: the return of Christ. Chapters 38 and 39 Ezekiel prophesied the Great War, including a union of nations led by Israel and the figure from the North.
For the true Messiah to come, the Jews of the group will have to be redeemed for their sin and evil. To make this happen, the Israelites need to engage in such blatant misconduct, which will absolutely be apparent to all – according to this belief, they did. And the harsh punishment continues for the world to oppose Israel.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, along with Netanyahu, assured Israel would advance towards this goal. The date of this redemption is forewarned in September 2027.
The Bible describes the “last day” between the first coming and the second coming of Jesus, beginning with the Holy Spirit poured into on Pentecost Day, continuing until the last event of the “Day of the Lord.” During this time, the Bible predicts an increase in wickedness, a departure from faith, a sign of heaven, and the ultimate resurrection of Jesus.
However, there is no reasonable basis for this cause. It is irrational and destructive, and comes from Israeli collective and positive behaviour, but it has consequences. This is a mass mental illness that excludes reasons from decision making as it awaits divine intervention.
If your book was written after the 12-day war between Iran and Israel, would you include the conflict too?
no. But I would have written something like this. The 12-day war was a political revival. It was manipulated by Netanyahu and solidified his position by bombing Iran. The attack on Iran allowed him to temporarily mask the challenges surrounding him. At the time, the highest of these challenges was ongoing war crimes in the Gaza Strip, but more than two-thirds of Israel’s population were seeking a contract with Hamas to free all hostages.
This was a period when the domestic sector was deepening, anti-war movements gained traction, and Israel was increasingly isolated on the world stage.
You strongly emphasize the importance of media in expressing the truth. Do you think this is the central message of the book?
We are ruled by stories that prevent salvation from reaching this world. What is narrated is deeply permeated by the human mind. It is a carefully crafted language that we hear, influence and reinforce certain mindsets, while ignoring and dismissing human values. It is reinforced by language, authority, management, education, doctrinal reinforcement, ritual formatting, repetition, and when challenged, it brings the fear of external damage. This story is primarily controlled by the media. Messages are carefully crafted to set or change perceptions through persuasion, reinforcement of guilt, moral confusion, and dependence. However, this story is not used for salvation, but rather to influence and perpetuate the cycle of dismantling.
At the global stage, such narratives are used to condition and indoctrinate governments and societies. This empowered the dominant minority. Minorities freely condemn other people, those who are not perceived as humans. This is relayed through media back propaganda. Use a message similar to the following: While only a particular population deserves care and sympathy, the targeted population is considered pests that require extinction. This overturned our basic sense of human empathy, preventing many people from feeling the same humanity towards the targeted group.
This false story that reverses reality is detrimental and unleashes unimaginable cruelty and hatred on the most defenseless people, babies, children and women. This is the evil that uses its charming tongue to persuade and capture many, including the world’s most powerful leaders.
What does Z’s Journey in Gaza say about our own responsibility when real superheroes don’t come to save us?
Writing about Israel and Palestine was very controversial in the West, and anything to be published had to be sanitized through a fictional character. This approach was chosen. Because, like many, I didn’t want to be a participant or take part in what was going on. Now we have a glimpse into the truth. In fact, there is a message that we do.
This story features a character named Z who first appeared in a children’s series featuring superheroes dealing with issues such as Covid-19, climate change, a form of disadvantaged light, environmental conditions, and war in Ukraine.
For many, when it comes to Z, Gaza has become a clear and defining event that changed them. Z is part of a quiet majority. Those who can’t understand how the world endured with full support from the West, this onslaught of genocide unabated. As Z tackled this dilemma, he sought answers and truths. And with the truth, the realization came that no superhero would save us from evil. When we need it the most, no one comes to help.
We have allowed a small number of powerful people and groups to place themselves on the law and set an agenda for us. The United Nations, the ICC, and the ICJ have no means of containment of evil that exists. We are all faced with fear of becoming the next Palestinian. If this continues, it is a prediction of a new world order.
