Tehran – Iran’s major national security authorities have warned that unilateral humanitarianism in international politics has led to widespread humanitarian disasters around the world, and the situation in Gaza represents one of the most serious symptoms of this trend.
Speaking at Moscow Security Conference on Wednesday, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said the imposition of the dominant global power will on independent countries fueled the chaos and suffering around the world, particularly in West Asia.
“The forced agenda of unilateral row haughty power has produced countless tragedy worldwide. Today, the region of West Asia stands as a living exhibition of these crimes,” Ahmadian said.
He pointed to the long-term conflicts and crises in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, noting that each suffers deeply from an externally driven agenda rooted in exploitation and injustice.
The Ahmadian reserves his strongest statements about the current situation in Gaza, calling it an “unprecedented crime” that unfolds right in front of the international community.
“What we are witnessing in Gaza is not only the indiscriminate murder of civilians, but also the slow and intentional deaths of women and children through starvation and lockdown. It is a humanitarian catastrophe of historical proportions.”
He criticized the double standards of the West, emphasizing that the roots of these tragedy lie in a global order shaped by domination and inequality. “Western unilateralism is built on the basis of oppression and state exploitation,” he said.
Ahmadian emphasized that a comprehensive global security framework can only be achieved through multilateral cooperation and justice. He argued that the current world order must evolve into one that guarantees equal and fair opportunities for all countries.
“A new global security order must create conditions in which all countries have equal interests in peace and development. Multilateralism is not just a preference. It is necessary.”
The Ahmadian also emphasized the importance of human dignity and the importance of comprehensive participation in global security processes, and condemned the dominant forces using sanctions and technology superiority as tools to deprive other countries of fundamental rights.
“One clear example is efforts to reduce Iran’s rights to the peaceful use of nuclear technology. These actions represent a broader pattern of denying sovereign states legitimacy.”
“Iran is committed to peaceful nuclear rights.”
Repeating Iran’s stance, Ahmadian said Tehran would remain open to dialogue, but would not compromise on nuclear independence, including fuel cycle preservation and enrichment activities.
“Iran welcomes diplomatic involvement, but it advocates for maintaining nuclear rights, including enrichment and a full fuel cycle. This is a matter of sovereignty and scientific progress.”
He concluded by stating that the path to a multipolar world based on cooperation rather than coercion is the only viable route to lasting peace and justice in all countries.
“Strengthening the foundations of multilateralism and moving forward towards a multipolar global system is a path that can bring sustainable peace and justice to humanity.”
