TEHRAN – Despite President Trump’s much-touted Gaza ceasefire announced on October 10, Israel continues to restrict a vital lifeline for Palestinians in Gaza. The occupying Israeli regime’s continued airstrikes, artillery bombardment and intensified blockade have deepened the humanitarian collapse across the Gaza Strip, making survival increasingly difficult despite a declared cease-fire.
Reports from southern Gaza say Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian man in Bani Suhaira, east of Khan Yunis, inside the “yellow line”, when regime warplanes launched further attacks in the area. On Monday, IOF killed at least four Palestinians and wounded several others.
In violation of the terms of the ceasefire announced on October 10, heavy artillery shelling simultaneously hit large areas of the city’s eastern flank.
In central Gaza, civil defense teams recovered the bodies of 14 Palestinians from under the rubble of a house in the Maghazi refugee camp. Rescue workers said the victims were still inside when the house was attacked during the escalating massacre.
The Gaza Civil Defense Force has warned that its entire fleet may soon be out of action as its fuel reserves have been completely depleted.
Without fuel, emergency humanitarian intervention will be impossible and thousands of people will be at risk as the regime’s attacks intensify. The warning comes amid a lockdown that has already cut off power, transport and basic services.
The occupation regime continues to systematically bulldoze residential areas in eastern Gaza City and the southern suburb of Rafah, destroying homes and essential services. At the same time, the so-called “yellow line”, under which IOF maintains its occupation of the Gaza Strip and fires on anyone who approaches, remains a major obstacle to moving forward with the second phase of the cease-fire plan.
These actions are in direct violation of the declared ceasefire. When IOF prevents movement and simultaneously destroys infrastructure, it creates a situation in which daily life cannot continue normally or safely.
The regime’s actions have made life in Gaza uninhabitable by depriving people of the basic conditions they need to survive. Constant attacks make no area safe, and destruction of homes leaves families without shelter as harsh winter conditions approach.
At the same time, Israeli naval vessels began shelling the coast of Gaza, this time near Rafah, expanding land, air and sea operations to cover much of the Gaza Strip.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, 17 Palestinians were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, including three new deaths and 16 injured. The bodies of 14 people recovered from under the rubble were also brought in. Since President Trump announced the ceasefire on October 10, the death toll of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has reached 345, with 889 injured and 588 bodies recovered.
Since October 7, 2023, the cumulative death toll from Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip has increased to 69,775. A further 170,965 people were injured.
As IOF’s scope of operations expands and the blockade tightens, essential services are disrupted and Palestinians remaining in the besieged enclave have fewer means of survival.
