Tehran – Jeno Mountain, 30 km northwest of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province, is located between Bandar Abbas and Hajbad. It is considered part of the South Zagros Mountains.
At over 2,300 metres tall, it is the sixth highest summit in the entire state. The weather is always between 7-10 degrees Celsius, less than Bandar Abbas, reported Chtn.
The weather is comfortable and cool in spring and autumn.
Geno Mountain was declared a protected zone in 1972. Given its unique natural properties, it was listed on the UNESCO list as one of Iran’s 13 biosphere habitats.
This 43,000 hectares area is home to dozens of rare animal and animal species.
A diverse range of plant species, including low-density forests, shrubs, fruit trees and herbal plants, grow in Geno Heights. Trees like figs, pomegranates, apples, apricots, grapes and almonds have doubled the natural beauty of the area.
Geno is home to species such as Persian leopard, hyenas, jackals, antelopes, rum, sheep, foxes, rabbits, and wild boars. Prey and migrant birds such as Falcon, Partridge, Huma and Jay are also found in the area. Rare amphibians and reptiles also live in the flowing waters and springs of Geno Mountain, which indicates the health of the ecosystem of the region.
Warm water spring
The warm water spring in Geno is one of the most fascinating parts of Geno Mountain. Springs with high temperatures and mineral water rich in sulfur, chlorine and calcium compounds can be useful in treating many skin and joint diseases.
The presence of two independent swimming pools for women and men, as well as the amenity spaces around them, has transformed Geno into one of the most important health tourism targets in southern Iran.
An unusual fish named Aphaniusginaonis lives in this hot spring. This fish is difficult to see with the naked eye due to its high speed and small size.
