Baghaei made a comment on Saturday in a post on his X account. Today marks the 38th anniversary of Saddam’s chemical attack on Sardasht in northwestern Iran. This was not the first time an Iraqi dictator had used chemical weapons in an offensive war with Iran.
The spokesman said, “For eight years of the war imposed, Saddam’s army repeatedly attacked Iranian soldiers and civilians with chemical gases without being accountable or punished by the international community. Thirty-eight years after that crime, Iranians still demand that they reveal the truth and exercise justice for those equipped with Saddam’s chemical weapons.”
He also wrote, “Germany, the UK, the US and the Netherlands each played a role in the development of Iraq’s chemical weapons programmes in some way. The role of German companies in the production of Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction programmes was extremely important, and the German government was actively aware of the issue.”
He said, “Germany must take its legal and moral responsibility by revealing the truth about its role in Iraq’s chemical weapons programme. The Iranian demand for truth and justice will not fade.
