In an interview with Xinhua, announced prior to the province’s visit to China, President Putin cooperated with Moscow and Beijing in multilateral formats, including the United Nations, the G20 and the Shanghai Cooperation Agency (SCO).
“We are working to address looming global challenges, share similar views on regional and international security, and strengthen BRICS’ ability to take a common stance against discriminatory sanctions that hinder socioeconomic development across the world,” the Russian president said.
According to Putin, Russia and China are working on reforms to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to “create new financial systems based on openness and true equity, provide equal and non-discriminatory access to all countries’ tools, and to reflect the true status of member states in the world economy.”
The president said the two countries “share a wide range of common interests and surprisingly similar views on basic questions.”
