TEHRAN – Senior CNN journalist Christian Amanpur forced IAEA Director Rafael Grossi to openly admit that there is no evidence under his leadership to prove that Iran is making a systematic effort to build nuclear weapons.
“What we informed was that we didn’t have. As with some sources you mentioned there and by chance, we had not proven systematic efforts to move to nuclear weapons,” admitted Grossi, Amanpool wrote on her X account.
Following Grossi’s prejudice and unfounded report on Iran’s nuclear program last week, the IAEA Committee ratified a resolution to condemn Iran, which claimed Iran was not complying with its nuclear obligations.
Hours after Thursday’s resolution was adopted, Israel moved to attack Iran’s Natanz and Ford nuclear sites, assassinating many Iranian military commanders, scientists and civilians early on Friday.
The obligations Grossi mentioned in his quarterly report were related to the 2015 nuclear deal, which was discarded by the US in 2018, and not to the safeguard agreement.
