The shot rang from the Croydon Park unit on Sundays between 7:45pm and 9:30pm. Bystanders, cars and police have been fired up to 50 times, resulting in many people being injured and causing damage to facilities and vehicles.
The streets were closed and the area was placed in lockdown as police began a massive operation after reports of police fired indiscriminately on drivers, including police cars traveling along Georges River Road.

Smashed glass and windows lay in bullet holes Monday morning, remaining along a small shopping strip, causing numerous vehicles and facilities to be damaged. Police remained on the scene and searched the area for clues.
Paramedics treated 16 people at the scene for minor injuries, some of whom were injured with glass shattered by windows hit by bullets, while others were treated for shock.
On Monday afternoon, Superintendent Stephen Parry said one person had been operated on at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital earlier that day, with a total of two people being treated and released from the hospital.
