Jiang Zijun, a Commerce Ministry official, made his remarks when he spoke on the latest episode of China’s Economic Roundtable, an all-media talk show hosted by the Xinhua Conference.
On transparency, Jiang said the list will be comprehensively and systematically specifying categories of import and export goods subject to existing state bans and restrictions, and for the first time comprehensively and systematically specifying market entities to clearly and conveniently understand the boundaries of regulations.
From an openness perspective, the list eases certain import control measures to meet the development needs of the Hainan FTP, thereby expanding pilots’ opening efforts, Jiang added.
Hainan FTP will officially launch independent customs across the island on December 18th.
The Commerce Department published its list on its website last month.
