Said Amma Hakim, the leader of the Iraqi People’s Wisdom Movement, called for Iraq to be exempt from sanctions affecting Iran’s gas and electricity imports.
In Eid Al Fitr’s prayer in Baghdad, Hakim urged the international community to recognize the instability of Iraq and to allow the necessary exemptions for importing gas and electricity from neighboring countries.
Hakim expressed deep concern over escalating unrest in West Asia, saying that he “is closely monitored the rise in tensions in the Middle East and the increasing conflict between regional and international forces as this situation poses a significant risk.”
He emphasized that the most effective way to ensure the security of this sensitive area is through political resolution, dialogue and mutual understanding between conflicting parties.
Hakim warned that full-scale war in the region would have a widespread impact on everyone, although not limited to countries directly involved.
Repeating his stance on the Palestinian issue, he said, “Our position on the Palestinian cause is clear and unshakable. We once again express our unstable support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, urging the international community to take decisive and immediate action to stop the ongoing invasion of Gaza.”
Al Hakim also expressed solidarity with Lebanon in the face of repeated attacks by the Zionist regime, saying it “calls the international community and the Arab world to provide political and economic support to Lebanon, allowing the country to face its challenges.”
Additionally, he reaffirmed Syria’s commitment to a peaceful political solution.
