Tehran – Ammar Hakim, leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, says International Quds Day shows Muslims not waiving their rights to their Palestinian homelands and Muslims strongly oppose the Israeli Zionist regime’s project to Jewishize Palestinians.
Imam Khomeini, founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic, declared the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as the QUDS day in 1979.
“The last Friday of the auspicious month of Ramadan shows a sense of belonging to this land and a cry for abandoning it under any circumstances,” Hakim said in a statement released on Friday.
QUDS Day rally has been taking place this year as the Israeli regime has committed all sorts of atrocities against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. Israeli wild barrage in Gaza is described as a clear example of “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” by the International Court (ICC) based on hugs.
In his statement, the Chief of the National Wisdom Movement said that the Quds Day rally was a critical expression of opposition to “atrocity of all kinds”, destruction, hunger, reduction of water to the Palestinians, and the Jewishization of Palestinian lands, sought by Israel’s Zionist regime.
He said, “The influential participation of the Muslim nation and the free people of the world in marking this event (Quds Day) is admiration for the dignity and respect of this sacred site (Palestine).
Hakim said Palestine reflects Muslim and Muslim identities.
