The Palestinian Resistance Movement made the announcement in a statement early Thursday.
The group said the agreement includes “an end to the war in Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from Gaza, and the entry of aid,” as well as the exchange of Israeli prisoners remaining in Gaza with Palestinian prisoners.
It noted that it had held “responsible and serious” discussions with various Palestinian resistance groups regarding the proposal before signing the agreement.
The movement reiterated that its contribution to the efforts leading to the agreement was driven by a passionate desire to achieve “the cessation of the war of extermination against the Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.”
The talks began after Hamas agreed to accept President Trump’s 20-point offer in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and handing over administration of Gaza to Palestinian groups.
The response was widely praised by local resistance movements, calling it cautious but politically astute.
Hamas submits list of Palestinian prisoners of war
Hamas said in a separate statement that within the framework of the agreement it had submitted a list of Palestinian prisoners of war who were to be exchanged for Israeli prisoners according to the criteria agreed in the agreement.
“We are preparing to announce the name to the public through the Prisoner Media Bureau after the relevant procedures and understandings have been completed and are awaiting a final agreement on the name,” the ministry said.
Warning of new Israeli betrayal
Although it accepted the proposal, the group issued a harsh warning that the administration could renege on the agreement, citing Tel Aviv’s betrayal of similar deals in 2023 and January of this year.
It also argued that the implementation of any agreement requires the fulfillment of relevant requirements.
Similarly, as part of the agreement announcement, the movement warned that Tel Aviv must “fully implement the requirements of the agreement.”
The government therefore urged the regime’s closest allies, especially the United States, “not to allow the agreement to be evaded or postponed.”
At the same time, Gaza’s government media office called on Gazans to exercise “the utmost vigilance and caution” and that they should not be completely reassured as to whether the area they are moving to is safe after the agreement is announced.
“We call on the public not to travel from south to north or from north to south on Rashid Street and Salah al-Din Street or the surrounding areas, except after official instructions have been issued to ensure the safety of the public.”
The regime began the genocide on October 7, 2023, following a historic operation carried out by resistance fighters in Gaza against the occupied Palestinian territories.
In the “Al-Aqsa Storm,” as the operation was named, fighter jets stormed Israeli bases and hundreds of Zionists were taken prisoner.
Over the course of the war, the regime has subjected Gaza to unprecedented and deadly attacks that have so far claimed the lives of more than 67,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children.
The attack has also been accompanied by a near-total siege of the territory, which human rights groups have denounced as a means to weaponize hunger.
Meanwhile, the entire brutal military offensive has received record support from America’s political, military, and intelligence agencies.
The United States consistently lavishes billions of dollars’ worth of weapons on regimes and will veto any UN resolution aimed at ending genocide.
However, Hamas repeatedly offered concessions, including guaranteeing the release of prisoners.
However, the regime only cooperated with the initial ceasefire agreement and then began to systematically escalate the genocide.
Meanwhile, many sources, including Israeli officials themselves, will report extensively on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s deliberate efforts to thwart ongoing negotiations aimed at ending the war.
Bless the Gazans who irritated Israel
Hamas concluded its statement by paying tribute to the tenacity of the people of Gaza in the face of genocide, which prevented the regime from realizing its main objectives.
It cited Tel Aviv’s occupation of Gaza and the expulsion of the Palestinian territory’s more than 2 million people as part of its goals.
The paper praised the Palestinians for having “recorded an unparalleled record of glory, heroism and honor, standing up to a fascist occupation plan that targeted them and their national rights.”
“What Israel could not achieve with genocide, it will not be able to achieve with dialogue.”
Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the Hamas Politburo, similarly said that the agreement was the result of the great sacrifices and strong resistance of the Palestinian people.
“The ceasefire agreement is an outstanding national achievement, embodying national unity and adherence to the option of resistance.”
Despite participating in the negotiations, he also asserted that the movement remains steadfastly committed to defending the rights of the Palestinian people, saying that what the Israeli regime has not been able to achieve through genocide and starvation will not be achieved through negotiations.
Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha also praised the unified stance of the Palestinian factions during the talks, saying that it had led to further isolation of the regime.
