Hamas’ intellectual and political response to the Trump Peace Project showed that the movement has reached a high level of political maturity, in addition to the fight on the ground.
The main provisions of Trump’s 20-point plan highlight the implementation of a ceasefire, the release of all prisoners, Hamas disarmament, and Israel’s gradual withdrawal from Gaza. The plan also seeks to meet the main demand of Israel, Hamas disarmament. The plan also states the issue of Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza in stages and gradually states, but does not provide guarantees for this gradual withdrawal.
However, Hamas’ response to Trump’s proposed plan is intelligent and aims to ensure the benefits of resistance and maintain unity of Palestinian groups. Hamas announced an agreement to ceasefire, release of prisoners and simultaneous withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, but postponed issues of the management of the military in Gaza to talks between Palestinian groups.
At the same time, individuals and media close to this movement have announced that Hamas is a liberation movement and will maintain weapons for freedom, but once the government is formed in Palestine, it will hand over the weapons to that government.
This position was based on the silence of many of the 20 clauses of the Trump Plan, and was completely logical, in the direction of Palestinian unity, indicating the political maturity of Hamas leaders.
According to an announcement from the Egyptian government, negotiations between Israel and Hamas were scheduled to begin on Monday morning, October 6th with the presence of a senior American delegation in the Shahm El Sheikh area. The US and the European Union viewed the Hamas movement as a terrorist organization, and the Zionist regime has also decided to destroy it, but after nearly two years of resistance and a serious blow to Israel, Hamas has entered into negotiations with the US and Israel as a legal representative for the liberation movement and the Palestinians.
Under pressure from the families of prisoners in the administration, Israel has agreed to implicitly accept the Trump plan in the first phase of its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, but no guarantees for subsequent phases are given. Therefore, Hamas leaders must remain vigilant and authoritative in negotiations and demand the necessary guarantees for Israel’s complete withdrawal from Gaza.
Today, the Zionist regime is at its worst domestically and internationally, and is the most hated regime in the world. To get out of this situation, the administration is trying to make up for its criminal image and is only interested in the release of prisoners.
As intermediaries such as Qatar, Egypt and Turkey could act to welcome Trump in favor of Israel, Hamas must have the final say and control the negotiation scene with authority and confidence.
Hamas’s claim to the realization of legitimate positions and conditions that guarantee the rights of Palestinians will certainly be welcomed by all freedom enthusiasts in the Islamic world and in the world.
